The Great Wall of China ‘zig-zags’ central-east Asia, and it is an incredible structure.
It took over a thousand years to build and is over 1500 miles in length,
……… 3000 years old! The bricks alone would build four Egyptian pyramids!
It is the longest, oldest, most time consuming construction project ever attempted in history,
...... It is estimated that over one million people worked in the construction of the Great Wall,
Neil Armstrong (the Apollo astronaut) said that it could even be seen from space.
(…some people belive this is a myth,….I haven’t been up there yet :D )

It is a one of a kind experience to visit the this breathtaking place,.............:faint:
….be sure to put this on your ’list’ of things to do during your lifetime.

I took this photo at the highest point of the Wall at the Badalin area, about an hour and a half away from Beijing.

The Great Wall has become a symbol of the "indestructible spirit of the Chinese people".....
............ You can feel that spirit grow within yourself as you explore the Wall.

That is an amazing angle to get such a great composition. I love the different tones and shades of every colour captured and the detail in the stone is immense. Powerful lighting really makes the shadows work and influences the incline. Really great shadowy hills in the background, but I love how you make use of the foreground like no one else.

Of all lthe Great Wall pictures I have ever seen this is the one that makes me want to go there and experience it for myself.

I have been really enjoying your China pictures, Bernie (although you would never know it, since I have been oh so passive on here.) So here's your little note of appreciation: :music:
